The Background of Farthing and Sovereign PoodlesBreeding quality poodles since 1981. “The Story of Moon”: The highlight and foundation of Farthing toy poodles is rooted in a truly delightful toy female named, Am. Can. Ch. Farthing’s New Moon Rising, TP, who, apart from being a multiple group winner and specialty Best in Show winner was Best of Variety Winner at P.C.A in l992. She was also #6 toy poodle in the United States that year, and in l994 won Best Brood Bitch at P.C.A. with two of her champion offspring representing her. Moon is featured in all of our Farthing pedigrees and has continued to impress her type and personality into her progeny. After tremendous success and many Champions bred, in the early 1990’s “Sovereign Standards” was conceived once the benefits and assurance that enough knowledge about Poodle breeding had been acquired from the breeding of Toy Poodles, that the breeder felt comfortable to become “caretaker” of some of the extraordinary pedigree lineage of the Standard Poodle bloodlines. The following Standard Poodles were exhibited in AKC All Breed dog shows as “Show Dogs” by Sovereign Standards over the past decade. These dogs have all acquired a “Championship” , or “CH” , title which is only awarded directly from the America Kennel Club (AKC) after winning a total of 15 points at AKC sanctioned dog shows under multiple judges:
